In high school i had a teacher for both Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. She was by far the best teacher i have had. There are several things she did in her classes that stood out to me as a student. One, her love for science was contagious and that came pouring out during her lessons. Two, she was very challenging. I had to work the hardest in her classes in order to be successful. She expressed the importance of studying in a fun way in order to remember the material. My study group came up with poems, songs, and all sorts of tricks to remember the information. Third, she structured her class in such a way that you always knew what to expect when you came to class. There were no surprises, we had the same routine every day. This teacher helped me discover my love for science, even though it never came easy for me. When i expressed my concerns to her about pursuing science in college, she told me: Its not about whats easy for you, its about what sparks your curiosity enough to continue to learn, even when its hard. I continue to live by that philosophy and i hope to inspire a student just like myself when i have my own class.
